In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
We direct you to Order the Commissioners of HM Navy at Plymouth to cause a Strict enquiry to be made of the condition of HMS MACHINE and SANDADOES Prize, late taken from the French, when they were brought into Plymouth with respect to their Rigging, Sails, Ground tackle, Ordnance, and Stores of all sorts. And also to examine the Officers and Company of the ships which took them, as well as those taken in the ships who can give an account of what condition they were when taken from the enemy, and if any of their Tackle, Apparel, Furniture or Stores were afterwards embezzled and by whom. He is to return an account thereof to this Board. And you are also do the like action in relation to any other Prize's which shall in the future be brought in by HM Ships to this or any other Port.
