In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Captain Meester Commander of HM Hired Ship LUMLEY CASTLE has informed us that the Seamen belonging to the three Hospital Ships to be discharged are willing to join his ship. We direct you to enter those men who are prepared to join her. He has also informed us that he was forced to pay the men of the ARCHANGEL and SMYRNA Merchant who were ordered to assist him take his ship down to Longreach before they would go on board. We direct you to stop what appeared to be payed to them from their wages. NB The names of the men from each ship are listed overleaf.
