In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
You advised us at your attendance to this Board, that Captain Boteler, Commander of the MARY, now refitting at Woolwich, had given tickets of leave to some of the ship's company for a longer time than was directed by our order of 4 May. We ordered the Captain to give us an account of this and he alleged that he did not know of our order. You are directed to let us know why the said order was not publicly on board the ship upon her first coming in to refit.
