In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Notwithstanding our orders to you to have ships ordered to the Mediterranean sheathed, you are directed to have the ships fitted with all possible dispatch without being sheathed. The CHATHAM is to be fitted for the Straits, in place of the GREENWICH and manned with her middle complement of men, and the GREENWICH is to be refitted for service in the Channel and manned with her highest complement and victualled for 3 months.
