In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

In answer to your two letters of 9 and 11 November, concerning convoy of three vessels going with stores to Plymouth, orders were sent to Sir John Ashby to direct the OXFORD to proceed with the two that are at Cowes. Orders were sent last night to the Commander-in-Chief in the Downes, to order the first ship going westward to convoy the NEVIS MERCHANT.
