In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
In your letter to us dated 11 October, you advised us that pursuant to our order, you had bought a merchant ship the KATHERINE and ordered her to be fitted for the transportation of naval stores. In particular for fetching timber and plank from Ireland. You are to establish her as a 5th Rate and allowed 25 men and 6 guns with a Master and Commander to take charge of the stores and to do the office of Purser, a Boatswain, a Carpenter, a Gunner, a Surgeon, a Cook, 2 Master's Mates, a Midshipman and a Quartermaster.
