In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The Queen having been pleased to declare her pleasure that Captain Edward Littleton, late Commander of the THOMAS & ELIZABETH fireship, should have the same reward for endeavouring to burn the ship at La Hogue as if he had succeeded. You are directed to sign a bill on the Treasurer of the Navy for the sum of £100, being the reward allowed by the Rules of the Navy to the Commanders of fireships for burning an enemy ship of 40 guns and upwards.
