In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

His Majesty has been pleased to direct that Captain Benjamin Walters, late Commander of the STERLING CASTLE, by reason of his great age and infirmities which render him unfit for further service, receive a pension as a superannuated officer. You are directed to settle a pension on him equal to the wages allowed to the Captain of a 3rd Rate ship, to commence from the time he was discharged from the STERLING CASTLE, to continue during his life. This is to be settled on the Ordinary Estimate of the Navy to be signed on quarterly bills on the Treasurer of the Navy, for which this is your warrant dated 3 April 1693.
