In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Sir George Rooke has advised us by his letter of 11 April, that convoys to Virginia and the Straits squadron, are spending on their 8 months victuals and the Victualler's Agent at Portsmouth has nothing left to supply them or other of their Majesties' ships until it comes from London. You are directed to order the Commissioners of the Victualling, to take care that a fitting supply of provisions be ready at Portsmouth to answer these services, and we further direct that such ships of the main fleet which have spent any of their sea provisions be sent to sea with the full proportion ordered them.
