In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Henry Washington, Gunner of the DEFIANCE, having petitioned this Board that since the ship is laid up he may be allowed a deputy, and that he and his servant may be admitted to serve on board the BRITANNIA during the present expedition. You are directed to have them borne in victuals only in BRITANNIA and in wages only in DEFIANCE, during the said time.
