In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Mr Chasseloup and Mr Jacqueau [Frenchmen serving in the Navy] have pensions which are established upon the Navy, on which there are arears due to them. They have applied to Her Majesty to receive these arears in order that they may leave something behind for the subsistence of their families; which Her Majesty thinks is reasonable. I was ordered to speak to Mr Russell for payment, who has answered that he would readily do this as soon as he has authority from the Navy Board, to whom application for a warrant has been made.
