In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

(1) Upon reading the petition of Richard Perry Esq and other merchants of London, owner of the RICHARD and SARAH, John Marshall, Commander, setting forth that the ship, being at Jamaica during the late earthquake, was taken up into their Majesties' service as a guardship for the island. For which service there is due the sum of £121.7.7 1/2d and the petition prays that this may be paid. It is ordered today by His Majesty in Council that the Lords of the Treasury examine the petition and report the state of the matter with their opinion thereon. Signed by William Bridgeman. (2) The Treasury are pleased to refer this Order in Council to the Navy Board to certify the true state of the matter and their opinion thereon.
