In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Officers at Chatham and Portsmouth Yards have opined that the DEFIANCE, CAMBRIDGE and SWIFTSURE can be restored for service in the Channel without great difficulty. They advise that to open them up would cause a delay to other types of work in their Yards.
