In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The King has been pleased upon a representation to him that the Port of Falmouth will be convenient for the receiving and refitting their Majesties' Ships, to signify his Command to this Board that a survey should be taken of the said Port. We direct you to give Orders to the members of your Board who have gone to Plymouth, to take assistance from the Commissioner and Officers at that Port, also members of Trinity House, and to proceed to Falmouth and make enquiry into several particulars as detailed in paragraphs numbers 1 to 6.
A Report relating to the usefulness of this Port should be made to this Board together with their Opinion what is fitting and proper to be done with regard to their Majesties' Service.
