In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Instructions are given for the hiring of the SMYRNA MERCHANT, ENGLAND Frigate and JOSEPH to serve as Men-of-War and to report on any other potential fighting ships currently in the Thames. The Admiralty is to be advised as to the number of Men and the types and numbers of guns required to man and equip the former.
