In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Captain Gourney has been ordered to proceed with the DEFIANCE to Chatham where she is to be laid up. He is to depart as soon as her guns, stores and provisions have been removed from her; and her Crew is to be transferred to the EAGLE. Riggers and Ordinaries are then to assist in sailing her to Chatham.
