In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

The Commissioners of the Treasury, having perused your report of 12 July, find that the twopences taken from the Marines' pay in 1690 towards paying for their clothes, amounts to £2,124. 0.4 and it is estimated that about £300 more is to be collected. It is known that the whole sum of £19,750.14.1 is made good to their Majesties in the accounts of the pay of the two regiments, you are directed to have the £2,124.0.4 paid to Mr Balderston and Captain Robert Griffith, the two agents for the regiments and the remainder of the twopences paid in the like manner. The agents are to pay over the money to the two respective officers according to such direction as they shall receive from the Earl of Pembroke & Torrington their Colonel.
