In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Whereas you have informed us by your letter of the 2nd instant that twill be more for their Majesties' Service to hire the Merchant ship now in the river of Thames called the ST MICHAEL, than to buy her of the owner, we do hereby desire and direct you, forthwith to proceed to the hiring of the said ship accordingly, to serve their Majesties as a Man of War, of the [satisfied] rate that may be, and to let us know what you have done therein.
