In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
You informed us in your letter of 5 August that you had agreed with the owners of the ENGLAND frigate, that she should serve as a 5th Rate and allowed 180 men for her complement and have 42 guns viz. 16 demi culverin of about 25 or 26 pounds each, 20 saker of about 15 pounds each, and 6 minion of about 6 pounds each. You are directed to have her established with these numbers accordingly. She is to be fitted out by her owners for service in the Channel and victualled for 3 months
