In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Your letter of 7 August that it appeared necessary to you that more forges should be set up at Portsmouth as they are not capable of answering the demands from the iron works, especially in the winter season when the fleet is refitting. A house is to be erected on the north side of the great wet dock for the preservation of breaming stuff, together with a new boat house for the repair of boats. We have considered the estimates you have sent us and direct that work be put in hand.
