In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
You are directed to hire a merchant ship the BONADVENTURE at the same rates at which she formerly served their Majesties as a man-of-war. You are to have her established with the same number of men and number and nature of guns as was lately allowed her, and the owners should repair and put her in a fit condition for service in the Channel. She should be furnished with 3 months victuals and the owners consent to be abated in the hire of her for such time that she is under repair for 28 days from the beginning of the next spring
