The Bearer Mr Pitt being recommended by the Lord Berkeley to the Admiralty Commissioners as a fiiting Person to be one of the Masters of Attendant at Chatham, I am commanded to signify their directions to you, that you will examine him concerning his knowledge in the business of the Masters Attendant, and give them your opinion how you shall find him qualified for the said employment.
