In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Having ordered the C-in-C at the Buoy of the Nore to turn over the DEFIANCE's Men into the HAMPTON COURT and put Men aboard her to carry her up to Longreach, and assist in the getting out her Guns,Stores and Provisions, and then return to their proper Ships again, we direct you so soon as her Guns etc; shall be taken out to cause the DEFIANCE to be carried from Longreach to Woolwich by the Ordinary and Riggers of the Navy. Also you are to order her to be surveyed, and make a report to this Board how long time it will take to refit her again.
