In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
We direct you to cause the Provisions ordered for the Soldiers going to New York to be completed at Portsmouth as they shall spend thereon, so that they may sail with the full proportion ordered them. And for the better prevention of sickness amonst the Men you are to order the Ships which transport them to be supplied with a ton of Vinegar to wash their decks.
