In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Informing that Orders have been sent to Captain [Gothen] at the Nore to Man the SAMUEL Dogger, Peter Pearce Master, one of the tenders chosen to go with Sir George Rooke, and to send her to Spithead for that purpose. Orders have also been sent to the Commander of the GUARLAND at the Nore to convoy the BATCHELORS' SOCIETY and the HERITAGE and any other vessels bound for Cadiz with Stores to the Downs before proceeding to Portsmouth. The new Brigantine at Deptford is not currently required for launching but is to be kept in readiness.
