In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
It had been proposed that ships returning from the Straits, and including the ST MICHAEL, EDGAR, SUNDERLAND, and CHATHAM should be refitted at Portsmouth but as they are carrying cargoes they are now at the Nore. The question is posed whether they can be refitted at Chatham or should be sent on to Portsmouth; and wanting to know where the DEVONSHIRE which has also arrived at the Nore should be refitted.
