In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Your letter of the 12th inst; to our Secretary sent to us a Copy of the Survey of the defects of the Fireship ETNA, and offered your opinion that it will be best to have her paid off and laid up in Ordinary at Plymouth.
We direct you to give orders for paying her off and laying her up accordingly. In case she can be refitted for Sea service again, and if it is thought this should be done, you are to cause her to be repaired at such time as you think most convenient.
