In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
You have informed us that George Dennett , Blacksmith, who lost his right thumb while refitting the Fleet at Cadiz, is not relievable by the Chatham Chest as he does contibute any of his Wages to it. But as he was on HM's service abroad it appears by the enclosed Certificate of the Officers that you think he deserves a similar allowance as the Chest in such cases. We do thererby direct you to cause the same allowance to be made out of the Money in the hands of the Navy Treasurer from the tenths of Prizes taken from the Enemy.
