Personal letters during his cadetship and naval service, 1908-1930.
Correspondence between Penney and his family. Most are letters from Penney to his mother, including several written during his time at Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, 1912-1915, and several more from his service on board HMS INCONSTANT, HMS VULCAN, HMS CRESCENT and HM Submarine H47 during 1920. There are also a couple of letters written to and from Penney's father, one from the father to his wife and the other from Penney to his father.
