To report on the condition of the bottoms of the CONTENT and TRYDENT.

Captain Hicks, commanding the KINGFISHER, reports that she is deep in the water and badly pestered. She is to be surveyed at Spithead and her fitness for sea ascertained.

The ORFORD, ordered to relieve the NEWPORT is to be refitted (but not sheathed) and victualled at Portsmouth, manned with her middle complement and victualled for a voyage to New England; as was done with the JERSEY. The JERSEY is to be sheathed and fitted for a voyage to the West Indies and manned with her middle complement of men. Any men in excess of her middle complement are to be transferred to the LONDON MERCHANT, Hospital Ship at Spithead.
