In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The victualler at Milford will not consent to only 12 days of beer and when this expended we cannot expect more. He says he will not run further into debt until he has returns from the Victualling Officer and pleads that he is almost ruined by non payment. My company already grumble and think it is a hardship to drink water in an inland station. Signed by Captain Dove, Commander of the SHEERNESS.
