Upon consideration of your letter of 1 July about the payment of the CONCEPTION prize and our discussion of yesterday, you are directed to have the officers and company paid to the time they were turned over into the NONSUCH. Captain Barker, Commander of the LION is now in the Downes, having advised us in his letter of 15 july that pusuant to our order he has sent his Lieutenant to the Rye and Brighthelmstone [Brighton] with orders by express to the Commanders of the MAIDSTONE, HENRY prize and HIND pink in the Downes with advice of several of the enemy's ships being off Hastings. His Lieutenant expended £2.13.0 and Captain Barker has paid him. You are directed to have Captain Barker reimbursed this sum.
