In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Your letter of 17 July advised our Secretary that the new 5th Rate ship building by Mr Nye in the Isle of Wight, which we have named the POOLE and to be established with the same number of men and number and nature of guns as allowed for the 5th Rate last built, will be ready to launch on 6 August. You are to have her fitted out for service in the Channel, manned to her highest complement and victualled for 10 weeks. She is to be entered and registered on the list of the Royal Navy and you are to have her Commander, Captain Worthington, furnished with a tender for her better manning.
