In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
In your report of 17 July you advised us that Richard Asson, Caulker, who lost two fingers of the left hand after falling from the mast at Cadiz, cannot recive anything from the Chest at Chatham as he does not contributes out of his wages as the seamen do. But insofar as he was injured in His Majesty's service as it appears from a certificate from Mr Allen, Master Shipwright on the expedition, you think he deserves the like allowance. You are directed to have the same allowance made to him out of money in the hands of the Treasurer of the Navy for His Majesty's tenths of prizes taken from the enemy.
