In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
A petition has been presented to this Board in the name of Rebecca Layton, setting forth that her son John Ely served for 2 years in the SAMUEL & HENRY and CAPTAIN, and being left ashore at Torbay he entered aboard the FOWY and was pricked as Run for his former services. John Ely was lately killed in a scuffle at Lambeth in pressing some bargemen for the FOWY and we direct you to have the Run taken off.
