In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Your letter of 23 July to our Secretary advised that the new 5th Rate building by Mr Collins at Shoreham, named the GOSPORT and established with the same number of men and number and nature of guns as the new 5th Rate lately built, will be ready to launch by 20 August. You are directed to have her launched and fitted for service in the Channel, manned with her highest complement of men and victualled for 10 weeks. She is to be entered and registered on the list of the Navy and Captain Greenhill, her Commander, is to be furnished with a tender for the better manning of her and you are to give directions for entering men in her.
