Document signed by John Berkeley (1663-1697), third Baron Berkeley of Stratton, Admiral
Pursuant to your Lordships order, I have consulted the Captains of my regiment and find that since 10 January 1694, all the men have been constantly employed on board, and that the pay they now apply for is only for a few men who have from time to time put sick on shore and subscribed by their respective Captains (after their recovery) until they could be put back on board. As to the disposal of the men since they were on board, they are not able to give an exact account, but the ships books will inform you.
