In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Vice Admiral Aylmer has been ordered to cause a careful survey to be taken of the Hulls of the first and second Rates and of the old Gun Ship at Spithead, in order that we may better know which of them are in the best condition to continue there this Winter.
If you think it necessary we direct you to give orders to the Portsmouth Yard Officers to join with the Officers of the Fleet in taking the said survey, and in such case you are to direct them to apply themselves to the Vice Admiral.
