Court Martial held on board the LONDON at Blackstakes on 29 September 1696. Captain John Munden, Commander-in-Chief in the River Thames and River Medway, President. Also present: Captains John Lake, James Gother, Jacob Banks, John Johnson, Thomas Pinder, William Passingor, Sam Vincent, John Grayson, Basil Beaumont, John Fletcher, Stephen Elliott, John Violl, Henry Lumley, George Delavall, Anthony Folat. Opinion of the Court that Captain Delavall is no ways accessory to the loss of the machine vessel and performed his duty. Captain Beckham did not perform his duty under the 33rd Article and his wages are forfeit to the Chest at Chatham and he is also rendered incapable in the future of bearing any commission in His Majesty's service.
