In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
You are directed to have the DEFIANCE and DUNKIRK at Chatham and the CHARLES galley and VESUVIUS fireship at Sheerness, cleaned and refitted for a voyage to the Canaries and each victualled for 4 months. You are to order the ships to be supplied with provisions from time to time as they spend them, so that when they sail they have a full 4 months provisions.
