In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
We lately directed that the tenders belonging to shipping at the Nore and in the Medway, be discharged except for a smack for the Commander-in-Chief. We now direct that the smack be discharged. Your late letter proposed the ordering of the NORFOLK, IPSWICH and RUPERT up the Thames as far as Woolwich to be refitted there or in merchants' yards. The ships being new probably want little repair. You are directed to come prepared tomorrow to let us know whether these ships may be refitted without coming up river.
