In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

A petition has been presented to this Board by William Carbonell and other merchants of London, owners of the ships CORONATION and ENGLAND frigates, setting forth that they were taken into His Majesty's service in the West Indies in an engagement with the enemy off Gardelope in the squadron commanded by Captain Ralph Wrenn. They cannot pass their accounts with your Board for the ships without the allowance of provisions for victualling 36 soldiers aboard the CORONATION and 25 aboard ENGLAND belonging to the Duke of Bolton's regiment. You are directed to allow the victualling provided it does not exceed the complement of men allowed these ships when they came into His Majesty's service.
