In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
His Majesty's Order in Council of 22 October declared that provision be made for sea victuals for 40,000 men for 13 lunary months to serve in His Majesty's ships next year. You are to give orders to the Commissioners of the Victualling to have these victuals in readiness at the several ports herein mentioned and according to the proportions given for each port, to commence from 1 January next viz; London - 22,000, Portsmouth - 8,000, Plymouth - 5,500, Dover - 2,500, Harwich - 200, Liverpool - 100, Milford - 200, Yarmouth - 300, Kinsale - 800, Dublin - 200, Newcastle - 200.
