Document signed by Josiah Burchett (c.1666-1746), Secretary to the Admiralty (1694-1742)

Admiral Russell has been ordered to put his ships, including the CONTENT, CHICHESTER and CAPTAIN in condition to take position in the soundings to protect trade; but his Surgeons lack equipment. An Order is given for the necessary equipment to be supplied from ships at Spithead, or from other sources.
