In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Enclosing an extract of a letter from Admiral Benbow who has notified the Admiralty that a difference of opinion has arisen between Commissioners at Portsmouth and the Ordnance over the supply of port-ropes and wadding. The Admiralty require a report. The Commissioners for the Registry of the Cinque Ports are asking for settlement of their accounts for the expenses their office. Approval is given for the Navy Board to compensate the owners of the DANIEL hired ship for losses incurred in conveying a Packet to Lisbon at the request of Commissioner St.Loe. And giving the Navy Board discretion as to how they proceed having received a letter from Mr Boswell, Surveyor of the new ship at Hull, concerning a Mr Lisle of Whitby and the matter of a longboat and some old rope.
