Document signed by Josiah Burchett (c.1666-1746), Secretary to the Admiralty (1694-1742)

Wanting to know the value of the goods brought from Turkey by Captain Moody in the YARMOUTH. Returning papers concerning enquiries made by the Commissioners of Registry of the Cinque Ports as regards their salaries and wanting an opinion. Workmen belonging to Chatham Yard have been siezed and imprisoned by their creditors. The Admiralty wishes to know by what means they are (should have been) protected against such a happening.
