In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Sir George Rooke having sailed from the Downs to Spithead with the Fleet an order is given to hasten the supply of Contingent and Short Allowance money to Portsmouth. Vice Admiral Mitchell has informed the Admiralty that he has ordered the ELIZABETH and HUMBER into Portsmouth for refit; but strict instructions are given that they are not to be docked unless absolutely necessary. They are however, to receive the same Victuals as Ships of the Line. And ordering the launching of the new Third Rate building at Deptford which is to be named the RANELAGH.
