Meitar collection.
A small collection of five Nelson letters and the patent of nobility for the Dukedom of Bronte. Presented to the Museum as a gift, in memory of Mr Zvi Meitar and his long-standing friendship and support for the National Maritime Museum. The letters include two to Nelson's friend and Prize Agent, Alexander Davison, one to his brother in law, George Matcham, one to Sir James Crauford, (British envoy to Lower Saxony) and a letter to Captain James Saumarez, congratulating him and other captains of the fleet, on their success at the battle of the Nile.
