Loose notes and newspaper cuttings, includes sketches of some of Gowers’ inventions: a patent log, and of the first transit. Copy of letter by Gowers’ son on the performance of transit three in 1819. Newspaper cuttings includes an article on the life of Gower, a photograph portrait of Gower and an article of the transit 1st in the MARINERS MIRROR, July, 1933. Also includes a track of the epex outwards between 1794 and 1796 for 'winds' and 'currents' (four sheets of paper). See appendix for more detail.
