Deceased Passengers' Effects.

Contains an alphabetical index of deceased passengers onboard P&O vessels. Each entry contains a page of information until 21 October 1932, when entries became briefer with an average of 6 entries per page. Recorded is the class they were travelling in (either first or second); name of port at embarkation and destination; the date the passenger died, name of steamer, cause of death, address of relatives and effects when and to whom delivered. Until 1932 each page contains a page of contextual information in the form of a letter written by the commander of the vessel to the managing directors of P&O concerning the death.

Contains sensitive information including suicides onboard.
